One of our favorite things is going in to check on our sleeping boys before we go to bed. When Collin still slept in his crib, when he had trouble going to sleep he would ask for things. He went through a phase of needing a band-aid on his finger every night, and he wouldn't be satisfied until every stuffed animal he could think of was in his crib with him. Plus way too many books. One night, Rob decided to clean up the crib a little and left Collin with only one book. After a while (at least an hour), he was crying hysterically and when we went in to ask what was wrong, he said "Daddy cleaned up all books!" We knew he always stayed up quietly looking at his books, but I think some nights he stayed up a long time.
Often when we check on him, we just laugh. A few times, we took pictures of the scenes we'd find:
 |
| Engrossed in "Brown Bear." Notice the pillow from our bed that he needed. |
 |
| Green Eggs and Ham on his face. This night he needed my Boppy pillow. |
And my personal favorite:
 |
| His shark bath mitt on his hand. |
Eventually, this is what his crib looked like . . .
 |
| This was his last nap in his crib. We counted 19 books when we emptied it out. 19! |
Then finally, in March, Collin moved to his big boy bed! He still sleeps with a few books and stuffed animals, but I'd say things are much more normal now.

In other sleep news, we recently transitioned the twins into their own room. They're basically sleeping through the night now. We had no idea what to do with them, since we really felt like they would sleep better once they weren't in our room with us any more, but we didn't know how that would work with Collin. We tried having them all in the same room one night, but it didn't work out- the moment one of the twins made noise, Collin freaked out. So, now Collin is in our room for a little while. Which isn't ideal, but it has been great for the twins!
And here are a few more sleeping pictures. . .

| Collin loves it when we have the babies "wake him up." He's usually grumpy when he's being woken up, but when we put the babies on him, he smiles and hugs them. Most of the time. (Collin and Elliott) |

| Truman must have been pretty tired to fall asleep on the floor! |

| Cute Tru has started sleeping with his bum in the air. Love it! |

So cute! I love the shark mitt!
I too am a fan of the shark mitt photo!! haha
You are not alone in your dilemma, as my brother and sister in law have the same problem -- a 3 year old and a 1 year old. So then the question is, who gets their own room and who sleeps in mom and dad's room? (And why don't mom and dad get their own room? haha)
Super fun photos of the Collin-ator!
