This is Rob. I thought I'd write about my last several weeks in the clinic and my graduation from Chiropractic School. This was a pretty momentous time in our lives, since I've been in school since 2007. I have to say that 6 years of school is really not that bad, considering that there are some people who were doing their undergrads before me and still haven't finished them. In those 6 years, I earned a Bachelor degree in Human Biology and a Doctorate degree in Chiropractic.

My last few weeks in clinic were interesting. The director of clinics worked closely with me to help me finish up with my clinical requirements. I was slightly behind due to a mixture of bad luck and my home clinic that I was assigned. In my last weeks, I had the opportunity to visit a couple of different clinics with a vast variety of patients. One of the clinics was located in a building dedicated towards aiding homeless people, called the Transitions Project. At the Transitions Clinic, homeless people come in to get out of the cold, get counseling, TB Shots and, of course, Chiropractic Care. It was really different treating this population. Most of them hadn't bathed in weeks, if not months. Many of them had psychosocial disabilities and disorders. In the orientation, I was told that I should assume that all of the men were sex offenders/criminals and that all the patients could potentially have weapons on them. Needless to say, it was an eye opener.
I had to continue working in the school clinic system past graduation and into January. There was a lot of drama getting me finished, while trying to pack for moving. It wasn't much fun, but now we're done and we're past all of that! We were very excited to move to Port Orchard and get into working and treating patients. We were also very excited to be done with school/tests and to never have to worry about that anymore. I desperately hope that I never have to fill out a Scantron sheet ever again.

We're here in Port Orchard now. We'll have a separate blog post about that. I'm excited to be done with school. I'm also really grateful for the education that I could receive from the University of Western States and Brigham Young University - Idaho. Through it all, I've come to better understand the greatness of God and the perfect order He has put into everything. The body is magnificent and complex. It amazes me how everything works together effectively and efficiently so that we can function in this world.
Anyway, I guess I'm a doctor now.
